Introduction

We're an electronic pop band. Luke and I started making music together while studying with the aim of tying together the energy and vibrancy of dance music with real song structures and strong melodies. We're also obsessed with film soundtracks, which is another element you'll hear in our music. So expect big strings in the mix! We remained a duo until we met our bass player Laurence Warder at a club he was promoting in Mayfair. He's made our live gigs a lot rawer and rockier. Our new single Joy comes out in May on CD and limited edition signed 7" vinyl. It has remixes from Cursor Miner, The Most featuring Princess Julia and Melnyk. Our debut album will come out later this year.

Professional Experience

We love collaborating with artists we respect. So far we've worked with people like Imogen Heap, Guy Sigsworth, Avril, Mark Moore from S'Express, Youth, Cursor Miner and recently Sophie Solomon, the virtuoso violinist. We've always been driven to make a record to unify and empower people and to provide an escape from everyday life, to make a record that someone will play in their bedroom in a tiny town, somewhere in the middle of America, and feel like they belong and think to themselves 'I can do something' and inspire them to be themselves. That's what music has always provided for me, a sense of belonging and identity. Some of our songs are more emotional and angry. Songs like 'Not That Big' and 'Blame' allowed me to let off steam but our music is not always that deep! Tracks like Joy and Crime are trashy and fun, inspired by fun nights out. I often find myself going back and listening to older albums like Bjork's 'Homogenic' and all of Kate Bush back catalogue.

Career Apex

Career highlights so far include supporting Grace Jones last summer, releasing our own singles and getting them in the shops, meeting Bjork, getting Imogen Heap to firstly do a duet with us and then produce her first ever remix for our song 'Hard, Medium, Soft'.

I Like

I'm also really influenced by a lot of new artists -currently I'm in love with Space Invader. I've also just been in France for a week in the mountains. I love getting out of the city as sometimes it can get too much.

Film Taste

Some of my favourite films are from France like the surreal 'La Cite des Enfants Perdus'. I'm a big fan of Tim

Music Taste

Kate Bush, Nine Inch Nails, Mirwais, Suede, David Arnold, Marilyn Manson, Frou Frou (Imogen Heap & Guy Sigsworth), James Bond soundtracks and of course the unstoppable Madonna! My current favourite music albums that help me unwind are Kate Havnevik, Milosh, Martha Wainwright and William Orbit.

Book Taste

I've been reading the biography of Frida Kahlo which has been very inspiring; I adore her paintings, the way she was so passionate and fought through her illness to create such powerful art.
