Provenance
Scott graduated from Cass Business School and went straight into the financial information industry with a French company named Ubiqus. He soon became the UK manager of PRLine, a press release distribution agency. As well as establishing the UK presence of PRLine he set-up a product called UbiqusFT, whcih distributed transcripts of financial meetings. He went on to work for CCBN, the leading US provider of online investor relations and corporate disclosure services, He helped establish the European operations of CCBN and Streetevents and left before the company was acquired by Thomson Financial. The idea for VBM came about when Scott was working for one of the early pioneers of online communications in investor relations and corporate disclosure, CCBN. He felt that video was massively underused as a means of communications and marketing by organisations. Video was generally only used by FTSE 100 companies and even then only on rare occasions. What grated Scott the most was that when video was used it was often ineffective. Scott felt there was an opportunity to set up a video production company that made great looking videos, but, was oriented by the client's objectives, be they business or creative, at a reasonable cost. The point being that the production values or the look of the video are a function of the purpose of the video. The result being satisfied clients and audiences.
