Introduction
Leafkicker Records is my own label which is in its infancy.
Provenance
Born, watered and nurtured in and around Bristol. Under the heady influence of Nirvana I took up drums at 14 and started playing in a band at 16. I taught myself guitar at 18 and started recording Sonic Youth/Mogwai type-songs on 4-track cassette.
Professional Experience
Armed with these demos and wide-eyed enthusiasm I went to college to study Creative Music Technology - but the soul-less confines of the college environment chip-chip-chipped away at my song-writing enthusiasm and confidence, so upon leaving I returned to just drumming and joined Bristol/Bath based band 'Valley Forge'. Six years (and counting) with them incorporating great songs, good gigs, bad gigs, confusing A&R men with evil plans, and a weary band. This is still the main thing for me, Lord Edward Dark is just what I do with the spare minutes. I've finished three albums since I plucked up the courage to start writing again last April - 'Pale & Blue High Mountains', 'SunSeaMoonStarSunMoonSeaFishStarFishCrown', and a folkier mini-album 'Brook Farm & Fruitlands'. My mum sings on a few songs, and a good friend from my otherwise bothersome 9-5 job (well 8-4 actually), John Pearce plays violin on about 5 songs. Other than that, I've played and recorded everything heard here.
I Like
I like good friends, psychedelia, unusual sounds on records, ice cream. All music is prayer; everything else is interesting in an infinite sort of way (ha ha)!
