Introduction

I'm a producer working to get my first feature financed. I'm working with Gary young who's just had the film he's written The Tournament made. The film was directed by Scott Mann - same director as Tug of War.. it's all a circle! My website can be found at www.biggerpictureproductions.com.

Provenance

I started out working in TV, and always really wanted to work making documentaries. But when I got on my first film set with Tug of War, I was bitten by the drama bug.

Career Apex

Finding out I was to be a part of Screen South's Good Foundations scheme. It's a programme to help develop producers working towards their first features. It moved me up about 15 gears in terms of knowledge, access to information, ability to package a project. Screen South are the regional UK agency that run it www.screensouth.org

Professional Aims

I just really enjoy the whole creative process. It's all about creative problem solving, from script development to seeking finance. Thinking laterally, finding unique solutions, working with good people who are on your wavelength. I also really do enjoy being on set with a good crew and the camaraderie that grows between the group when you get it right. There's just no other experience quite like it. I also enjoy getting a great audience reaction, when a film I've been involved with is actually shown in the cinema. I worked on a short about under ice diving and when it was shown in the cinema people literally jumped in their seats when the diver jumped into the ice hole. I liked that. It worked, people responded in just the right way to the final film.
