Introduction
I am a television editor based in Central London. I studied Film and English Literature at the University of East Anglia. When I completed my degree I managed to get work as a runner on various productions and went on to work as tape librarian, studio operator and edit assistant with a post production company. Have since worked my way up to become an Avid Editor.
Professional Experience
Have worked on a variety of film and television promos, DVD releases, documentaries, feature films and shorts. Work of note includes editing for The Travel Channel, HYPTV, Virgin Mobile and the extras for the DVD release of Funnyman. Studio work has included working on several of the news inserts featured in Shaun of the Dead.
Career Apex
Most memorable moment of my career: Being stopped by police when filming The Demon Within (for staging a murder in the street), managing to get John Woodvine (from An American Werewolf in London) to appear in my first short film, working on Shaun of the Dead. Ultimately the highlights will always be working with celebrities, most impressively when I set up a studio interview with C3-PO.
Professional Aims
What drives me most about making films is the fact that there's nothing else like it. Writing, shooting, and editing are some of the most creative things you can do and the end result is always something to be proud of (even if it's not very good). Even though it's hard work, it's also very enjoyable. One of the greatest things is finding how much time and energy others have for filmmaking and are willing to give you, simply because they are passionate about it.
