Introduction

My music is like my personal diary that even I don't have the key for! All of my songs are based on my real experience or ones I have observed and it gives me immense pleasure that people can relate to them. I think it's important to live what you sing about and mean it because we have enough fakers out there running our countries! If somebody was to ask me "what is Adrian Roye made of?", I'd have to say 99.9% music and then some! Yes music truly is the most important thing in my life thus far. Every memory I own has a theme tune.

Provenance

Born in 1982, the year of Compact Disc's, Ozzy's taste for winged creatures, and E.T. (I wonder if that's why my siblings compared me to that lovable bug-eyed alien!). I was raised to the music of James Brown, Dolly Parton, Bob Marley, Brenda Russell, many a funky 70's or 80's groove, and pop number. I soon discovered my own love for 'Hair rock'( Whitesnake and the likes), country, folk, and pretty much anything that stuck in my mind long enough! I was always writing songs, and being that I was not able to have piano or guitar lessons I learnt to use other's songs as a canvas. Once given the chance to be around instruments (thanks to music classes in secondary school) I taught myself to play the Piano/ Keyboard and several years ago the Guitar and Djembe.

Professional Experience

With the help of the my friends from the band Trying to find my musical direction has been quite a journey. My Original solo material always felt to me like somebody else's vision and what I thought people wanted from me. Moving on from that stage I worked with friends and eventually joined a band. It gave me a chance to learn a lot and free a musical part of me that felt guarded, but it wasn’t to work out. It turns out that what at first was devastation was really the catalyst to finding my true musical path. Unified Field Theory I began showcasing my new material, and for the first time felt truly at home with myself and my music. Along with Dave Neary, and Robin Desoer I have enlisted the talents of Beth Dariti who at different times help me share my stories with the world. Finally I feel I'm "making my path in the image of me" and I hope you like what you hear and see.

I Like

Well of course music has to factor highly in my personal interests but I also enjoy reading (especially scary novels), cinema, restaurants, and various social activities.
